Raoul Moat - crazed killer or victim of police harrassment?

Moat, a former tree surgeon, is convinced Northumbria police have been conducting a vendetta against him and has become consumed with hatred for the force. Anthony said: "Raoul is no angel. He's been a bit of a bad lad in the past but over the last few years he's made a hell of an effort and slogged his guts out to go straight and turn his life around.

Moat was addicted to steroids to build up his muscles which made him prone to unpredictable anger.

Anthony added: "He came off the steroids, set up his gardening business from scratch and grafted seven days a week to try to make it work.

There are lots of other jobs someone like Raoul could be doing where he could earn a lot more than £50 a day, but he wanted to be legit, above board and settle down.

"But as far as he could see, the police were never going to leave him alone. There was a period over four or five months when his car was stopped 100 times.

"If his tax disc was a day out of date they'd be straight on to him.

"On another occasion he'd been gardening for an old lady and she asked him to take a couple of bits of metal to the dump for her which of course he said he would.

"Just down the road, the police stopped him and asked him if he was insured to carry scrap. He said it wasn't scrap, it was waste that he was taking to the dump as a favour but they called his insurance company and impounded the truck.

"He then had to pay £220 to get it back. On its own, that's just a small incident. But there were so many others and they just built up and built up in his head. I can't put into words just how much he hates coppers."

When Samantha made up the story that she was dating a policeman, Anthony says it tipped Moat over the edge.

of course they are going to keep an eye on nutcases, even if they have come off the steroids

The man has killed people. He has completly lost it and the reasons why are irrelevant now. They need to lock him up and keep people safe!

They satill haven't got him yet - I reckon they've lost him and he'll go to ground until all the fuss dies down then start picking people off willynilly

Coward's way out - he didn't have the courage to face the consequences of his actions. And anyway he was rubbish at killing cops. He killed only one person who wasn't even a policeman then declared war on the police force swearing he was going to keep killing cops til he died. FAIL!

Police have confirmed that Raoul Moat may of been suffering from dandruff as they found his head and shoulders in a tree.

Well I'm sure he was known to the the police because he was a nutcase - was he stopped 100 times in 5 months or is that an exaggeration ?

He was obviously mentally ill, paranoid and delusional !!

Yeah and that !!

He sounds like he was a psychopath, untreatable either medically or therapuetically and would have continued to try and bully and control whoever he wished!

Not really - stopped 100 times by the pigs in 5 months - that's not paranoid - and he wasn't even black!!

Still good riddance - one less ginger in the world.

He was a nutter & now he's a dead nutter.His family have been beating their chests & wailing that if they'd been allowed onto the scene by police they could have talked him into giving himself up.I don't think so!If they'd been allowed onto the scene & got hurt/killed police would have got it in the neck for that too.He was a murdering nutter.He's now a dead murdering nutter & we won't have to pay a fortune for a trial & years in jail.
